EA SPORTS TO SHIP FIRST 3DO FOOTBALL TITLE

John Madden Football Makes CD Debut At CES

CHICAGO, IL, June 3, 1993--John Madden Football, the leading franchise game
of EA SPORTS, a division of Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), has been
enhanced for the 3DO system and now features fully digitized player
animations, 3D-modeled field and stadiums, and CD-quality digitized sound
and Madden commentary. This award-winning game also has a new engine that
gets players closer to the action with a lower field perspective that
allows the football players to appear larger and makes pass plays easier
to follow downfield.

Already the best-selling 16-bit football video game of all time, John
Madden Football now adds a National Football League (NFL) license to its
widely-anticipated 3DO version. This makes the authenticity in the game
even greater as team logos appear everywhere--on helmets, in endzones, on
the team selection setup screen, and throughout the playoffs and the Super
Bowl. Tn fact, the official NFL logo is now emblazoned at midfield.

The 3DO version of Madden Football also allows players to compete in both
regular season and post season modes. When competing in post season,
players choose their favorite team -- Eagles, 49ers, Chiefs, Cowboys, or
any other one of the 28 NFL teams--and try to win the big one on Super
Bowl Sunday. There are a total of 38 teams, including the eight best-ever
NFL championship teams and two All-Madden Teams, from which to choose.

After an exhaustive analysis of the '92 football season, the EA SPORTS
design team collaborated with Madden to create and refine a more strategic
playbook. The results include 72 offensive plays (as well as two new
formations--single back and "I"--that are sure to keep defenses on their
toes) and 68 defensive plays.

What's more--new on-line scouting reports allows gamers to review player
ratings on-screen rather than having to refer to a manual, thus
speeding-up gameplay. Over 1,300 players are rated on a variety of skills,
including speed, agility, catching, throwing, and blocking. Actual video
clips of the NFL teams are also featured during the scouting reports.

And best of all is that John Madden's personality truly shines through the
3DO version of Madden Football. His exclamations--which have been recorded
and digitized into the game so that they sound remarkably similar to those
of a game on TV--can be heard after a big hit, after a diving catch for a
touchdown, and after a number of other exciting plays.
