Computer Software Program Wins National Hardware Award 

Books That Work's Design & Build Your Deck Nails "Retailers' Choice" Award
at the National Hardware Show

PALO ALTO, CA, Sept. 3, 1993 - Books That Work announced today that its
premiere product, Design & Build Your Deck, received Do-lt-Yourself
Retailing magazine's "Retailers' Choice" award at the National Hardware
Show (hardware as in nuts and bolts, not bits and bytes), held in Chicago
in August. Never before awarded to a software program, the "Retailer's
Choice" award is an honor given to the most innovative and promising
products displayed at the show. Of the 3200 exhibitors and thousands of
new products, the Do-It-Yourself Retailing panel of retailers selected 30
exhibitors to receive the award.

Design & Build Your Deck is a multimedia software program that brings an
electronic format to "how-to" publishing. A Windows-based CAD (computer
aided design) product, Design & Build Your Deck features an easy to use
electronic design workshop and a comprehensive electronic book on building
that's filled with tips from construction pros. The program offers
intuitive expert guidance through every phase of deck design and
construction, providing a highly efficient, cost effective
home-improvement solution.

Design & Build Your Deck comes on 31/2" diskettes (51/4" can be requested)
and requires an IBM PC or 100% compatible, 386 or higher, 2 MB RAM
minimum; VGA or Super VGA monitor, and Windows 3.1. It does not require
CD-ROM.
