RUPP TECHNOLOGY UNVEILS FASTLYNX 3.0 TRANSFER UTILITY WITH FULL WINDOWS,
NETWORK-COMPATIBILITY

September 10, 1003 -- PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Rupp Technology Corporation has
introduced FastLynx 3.0, a new generation of PC-to-PC file transfer
utility equipped with full Windows graphical interface, background file
transfers and the first of several new Expanding Connectivity Technology
(ECT) features planned for Rupp products.

ECT enhancements to the new FastLynx version include MagicLynx -- an
advanced resource sharing feature that allows greater access to peripheral
devices connected to linked computer systems -- as well as mouse support
for both DOS and Windows. Also key to the new FastLynx program are added
file and disk management capabilities such as FX Sync -- a file and drive
"synchronizing" feature -- and cross-directory tagging.

The latest version of Rupp Technology's award-winning PC-to-PC file
transfer software represents the company's most pronounced upgrade since
the introduction of its pace-setting Fastwire product in 1986.

As with past FastLynx versions, FastLynx 3.0 incorporates the same key
ease-of-use features that have made the Rupp utility the industry's most
critically acclaimed file transfer program, while actually increasing --
not sacrificing -- performance.

"FastLynx has long been known as the most user-friendly product in its
class. Now we've taken it a step further by inventing a new class of
software utilities equipped with full Windows and DOS installation and
unsurpassed file transfer speeds -- of which FastLynx is the only
qualified member," explained Rupp Technology Vice-President Shelly
Lipkin.

"Rupp Technology has always watched the marketplace in order to meet users'
needs with our own technological advancements. Now, with the market for
connectivity products growing rapidly, we expect to continue growing right
with it thanks to ECT enhancements to FastLynx and other new data
communications products," said Lipkin.

For version 3.0, Rupp also streamlined the operation of it's flagship
program by converting its device driver into MagicLynx, a TSR, (Terminate
and Stay Resident), program that allows such improved resource sharing
features as the ability to access any and all connected disk drives, file
servers, CD-ROM drives and printers -- multidirectionally -- from any
station via a Novell IPX network driver or similar local area network
(LAN) arrangement. This is achieved without tying up any access point.
Operating in the background allows unrestricted use of all connected
systems.

In addition, FastLynx 3.0 has added several new file and disk management
capabilities allowing for cross directory "tagging" (ie. selection of
files for transfer). retagging, reverse tagging, search and tag by
selected attributes (name, date, time, etc.), and the complete
"synchronizing" of drives through the FXSync feature so that two connected
computers will end up with identical files in the end without the user
having to make visual comparisons.

Other new features and capabilities boosting FastLynx performance in both
DOS and Windows environments include:

* a simplified, fully-automated installation process;
* increased report-generating or "scripting" functions,
  including the ability to create editable, re-usable lists
  of transfer operations for storage or print-out;
* "drag and drop" data transfers using a mouse to click on
  files or file groups;
* background file transfers, allowing ongoing work in another
  application;
a "move-files" feature that allows files and directories to be
  sent to a second computer, while being simultaneously deleted
  from the sending system;
* users can now rename both local and remote computers with
  on-screen IDs for easier identification, and flip sides of
  the split screens used during transfers so as to correspond
  with the physical location of sending and receiving computers;
* in FastLynx's Windows interface, a mouse click on an
  application-generated file will launch the application itself.

Standard features still part of the new FastLynx include file compression,
automatic upload via "cloning," an online diagnostic program, auto port
and auto speed select functions, and error correction support.

Far and away the industry's fastest file transfer option for PCs, FastLynx
has been clocked at speeds up to 1300K baud when transferring files via
parallel mode between 486-based PCs, making it up to 100 percent faster
than the best transfer speeds specified by its nearest competitors.

Version 3.0 comes equipped with both 3 1/2- and 5 1/4-inch floppy disks and
two cables -- a four-headed 7-wire serial cable equipped with both 9 and
25 pin connectors on each end, and a proprietary 18-wire parallel cable.
System software requirements for running FastLynx 3.0 include DOS version
3.0 or later.

FastLynx 3.0 -- with complete file transfer, MagicLynx resource sharing and
drive mapping capabilities for DOS and Windows -- is scheduled for release
in the U.S. and Canada in October, 1993, at a suggested retail price of
$169.95.

In the U.S., FastLynx and other Rupp products are distributed to computer
product outlets nationwide through Ingram Micro, Merisel and Kenfil
Distribution. In Canada, distribution is handled by Canadian Computer
Wholesale and Gentek.

Founded in 1985, Rupp Technology Corporation is based in Phoenix and
maintains sales and marketing offices in Los Angeles and New York. A
pioneer in a variety of file management technologies, Rupp was the first
to offer both serial and parallel cable transfer in a software utility.

In 1989, Rupp again led the industry as the first company able to equip its
file transfer software with a "cloning" technique whereby a copy of one
system's transfer program could to be cloned on to a remote system. Last
year, Rupp introduced still more "firsts," including, a high-speed 18-wire
parallel cable which nearly doubled transfer speeds and the capacity for
station-to-station transfers across Novell networks.

Such consistent innovations recently led industry giants such as Microsoft
and Sharp Electronics to select versions of Rupp file transfer programs
over competing utilities for inclusion in their current product offerings.
FastLynx device drivers are now the basis for the Microsoft operating
system Interlink utility in DOS 6.0.

Likewise Sharp's Organizer Link products for communication between
microcomputers and the Wizard electronic organizer line feature a FastLynx
interface designed by Rupp Technology.
