ELECTRONIC ARTS SEEKS ORDER FROM GENERAL CHAOS

Chicago, IL - June 3, 1993 - Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) has announced
that General Chaos for the Sega Genesis will be released in August at a
price of $49.95. General Chaos is the creation of Brian Colin and Jeff
Nauman, whose track record includes time at Williams/Bally working on
titles such as Rampage, Archrivals, and Xenophobe. The game has been
produced for Electronic Arts by Chris Wilson.

General Chaos is a real-time, head-to-head action game that allows the
player to control a team of five hand-picked commandos fighting against
tough opposition. Play may be either one, two, or two-player cooperative,
and is a combination of fast-paced reflex action and lightning-swift
strategic decision-making. Graphically, the game features cartoon-style
caricatures and a comical array of explosive effects.

General Chaos and General Havoc are arch-rival army commanders, who have
been at war for some time (it could even be said that for these
conflicting countries, war has become something of a national pastime).
Each general prides himself on being able to draw upon four groups of
ruthless and nefarious commandos, each of which is skilled in techniques
of combat, subterfuge, and downright nastiness appropriate for a variety
of missions.

Once the player selects a crack team, the general takes his troops to war.
Squad members are individually directed around fifty unique battlefields,
and given specific instructions to counteract enemy advances. At all
times, the general must be ready to react instantaneously to pushes from
the enemy, either as a group, or individually.

Each commando under the general's control is assigned a particular duty,
that is especially relevant to his natural skill and training. The gunner
is equipped with an automatic machine gun, and the chucker with grenades.
The launcher uses a heavy bazooka, the scorcher sets things afire with a
flame-thrower, and the blaster carries dynamite for eliminating mission
targets or for trapping the opposition. A limited number of medic teams
may be called upon to patch up the wounded, who are basically wasting
precious combat time by lying on the ground!
