NHL HOCKEY
REALISTIC HOCKEY ACTION - NOW FOR THE PC

CHICAGO, IL, June 3, 1993 - EA SPORTS, a division of Electronic Arts
(NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced the upcoming release of NHL Hockey for the
PC. NHL Hockey combines the hot-arcade action of previous Sega
Genesis/Super NES versions with a new in-depth layer of coaching
strategy.

Licensed by both the NHL and the NHLPA, the game features team names, team
logos, player names and faces, and season schedules. The full-season mode
allows players to simulate the actual 1992 NHL season comprised of 84
games. In addition, players can compile team and player stats throughout
the season and compete for end-of-the-season awards like the Hart and Ross
trophies. They can also play in a number of different modes including
coaching only, full control and two player head-to-head.

Choose from one of 24 actual teams, with a complete roster of 28 actual
players, and take them through the playoffs in an effort to win the
Stanley Cup. Conkol all the action from slap shots to body checks.
Simplified rules and strategy decisions make the game enjoyable for both
novices and seasoned experts looking to take their teams all the way to
the finals.

EA SPORTS announcer Ron Barr's digitized voice sets up every game. A
digitized rink announcer introduces starting line-ups and goal summaries,
and realistic organ music brings the rink to life. Real NHL video footage
highlights will appear at random times throughout the game to make it feel
like you're watching a game on TV.

Skills of players such as Luc Robitaille, Brian Leetch, Paul Coffey, Adam
Oates, Chris Chelios and Jeremy Roenick are measured by 14 skill
attributes - including shot power, skating speed and stick handling. Game
players will now have to take into account the personal skills and
attitudes of their team members--and the opposition--when playing the
game.

"For the first time in video game history, the two biggest powers in the
world of hockey have joined forces to design the most realistic hockey
simulation ever created for the PC. The sound along with the digitized
video make you feel like you're right in the rink," commented Rich
Hilleman, Electronic Arts vice president and NHL Hockey designer.
