ELECTRONIC ARTS ANNOUNCES INITIAL 3DO PRODUCT LINEUP

Chicago, IL - June 3, 1993 -- To demonstrate its commitment to the 3DO
Interactive Multiplayer, Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS), a global leader in
interactive media, has announced plans to release six major new software
products.

The release of the majority of these first titles John Madden Football, PGA
Tour Golf, Road Rash, Twisted, Worldbuilders, Inc. and Shock Wave) is
timed to coincide with the fall 1993 debut of the Panasonic REAL 3DO
Interactive Multiplayer. Additional titles from Electronic Arts will be
released by Christmas. They include the first 3DO product from Origin
Systems Inc., and EA*Kids, both operating divisions of Electronic Arts.

Electronic Arts' consistently high growth has been importantly fueled by
technological innovation. The company was one of the first major
publishers to see the potential of the Commodore Amiga in 1986 and to
actively support the Sega Genesis in 1991. In 1993, while continuing to
defend its leadership position in the 16-bit computer and videogame
markets, it will push the boundaries of 'real life in a box' to new
extremes by offering consumers high quality software for use on the
Panasonic 3DO Interactive Multiplayer.

3DO technology, featuring unique graphics animation architecture and
compact disc-quality music and sound effects, represents a tremendous
advance in the multimedia presentation of entertainment software. For
example, it allows full utilization of graphic effects such as texture
mapping, depth of field, light-sourced shading, true-color and motion
video.

Additionally, users will interact directly with real people and real sounds
(no more cartoon-like sprites!), so the multi-sensory experience will feel
far more realistic than ever before.

Jack Heistand, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Electronic Arts, said
that the company "enthusiastically supports the 3DO Company's effort to
create a new standard for the industry with a new generation of hardware
that is the most capable home media player ever introduced.

"Electronic Arts has a mission to rapidly establish a position of
leadership in the 3DO entertainment software market, as it has
successfully done in other fields of entertainment software. The sheer
bandwidth and calibre of EA's 3DO product portfolio can be illustrated by
taking a look at the pedigree of our release schedule: John Madden
Football is the best-selling 1 bit football videogame of all time. The
Wing Commander series from Origin is generally regarded as the leading
interactive-movies brand in personal computing. EA*Kids will bring Sesame
Street and Peter Pan characters to life to educate our children. Other
titles will feature movie-quality special effects, animations and
soundtracks.

"Electronic Arts has always made software that is "Simple, Hot and Deep".
The 3DO platform is re-defining just how 'Hot' interactive software can
be", concluded Heistand.
