NEC DROPS PRICE ON THE SVGA MONITOR
...14-inch value-oriented Super VGA color monitor...

Wood Dale, m., Sept. 13, 1993--In an effort to further expand its
marketshare in the high-volume 14-inch CRT market, NEC Technologies, Inc.,
today announces a price reduction on its SVGA color monitor from an
estimated selling price of $350 to $330. The SVGA monitor represents NEC's
value-oriented solution to Super VGA color computing. With the addition of
the SVGA monitor in June, 1993, NEC expanded its monitor offerings to
include the value 14-inch, entry-level monitor market.

"NEC's MultiSync 2A monitor was the best-selling 14-inch monitor for
several years," said Jim Schwabe, vice president of NEC's Graphics
Business unit. "NEC would like the SVGA monitor to have comparable
sales."

NEC's SVGA monitor's low estimated selling price of $330 and capability of
displaying high resolutions (1024 x 768NI) make the monitor ideal for
entry-level business applications and the SOHO market.

The SVGA monitor features non-interlaced, VESA-compliant resolutions of 640
x 480, 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768 to allow for flexibility and reduced eye
strain. The SVGA monitor is ergonomically designed with a modern cabinet,
a removable tilt swivel base, small footprint and the most commonly used
controls up-front. The SVGA monitor also features NEC's Reduced Magnetic
Field Technology which meets strict Swedish MPR-II guidelines for lower
ELF/VLF emissions.

Offering mainstream flexibility, the SVGA monitor is compatible with VGA,
Super VGA and XGA resolutions. The monitor has horizontal frequencies of
31.5, 35.2, 35.5, 37.9 and 48 KHz, a vertical refresh of 50 to 90 Hz, and
a video bandwidth of 65 MHz.

The SVGA is currently available through NEC's nationwide distribution of
authorized resellers and has a one-year limited warranty. For additional
