ACCOLADE ANNOUNCES LICENSING DEAL WITH NFLPA

SAN JOSE, Calif.-AUGUST 30, 1993--Accolade, a leading publisher of sports
simulations, today announced a multi-year agreement with the National
Football League Players Association (NFLPA) to use the names and
statistics of the real pros in Unnecessary Roughness, a new football
simulation set to release this fall. The product will be a graphically
intensive and aggressive football simulation and will feature extra-large
rotoscoped and scaling player graphics in a rotating 3D polygon stadium.
It will also be the only football simulation to feature infinite camera
views to put game players right on the field. Unnecessary Roughness will
be available in October for IBM PC and compatible computers at a suggested
retail price of $69.95. A version for the Sega Genesis will be available
in November for $69.95.

Unnecessary Roughness players go head-to-head against real NFLPA pros in a
ferocious battle of outrageous tackles, impossible one-handed catches,
brutal head-butts, and flying helmets. This high-impact football game is
filled with intense moves and realistic animation. Players can choose from
Thurman Thomas, Ronnie Lott, Barry Sanders, Reggie White, "Neon" Deion
Sanders and others from any of the 28 pro teams. Players can compete in an
exhibition game, play a complete season against all the pro team cities,
or even customize their own league and take their favorite team through
the playoffs to the championship. Team and player stats are also updated
all the way through the championship.

Unnecessary Roughness features a variety of ways to view the game including
infinite camera angles, zoom settings, instant replay and automated
highlights after the game. With the extensive playbook, team construction
and logo editor, players can customize the game any way they choose.

This realistic football game is complete with the voice of pro football,
sportscaster, Al Michaels who calls the play-by-play. Michaels has been
honored with many awards in his career, including the coveted Emmy, and
most recently was voted the most popular professional football
play-by-play announcer by the readers of the San Jose Mercury News. His
recognizable voice can also be heard in Accolade's popular HardBall III
and soon in Brett Hull Hockey.

"Real players and realistic gameplay are what our consumers look for in a
sports game," -said Charlotte Taylor Skeel, Director of Licensing.
Unnecessary Roughness will have the NFLPA license, intense gameplay,
realistic graphics and animation. Everything today's market demands."
