NMSB MOVIE

NMSB Movie was developed as a tool for displaying large three-dimensional
data sets in an easily assimilatable manner. The program, originally
written to present ultrasonic scan data from damaged aerospace composite
materials, has also been used to illustrate heating and cooling rate data
acquired by thermal analysis systems and X-ray tomography images. NMSB
Movie displays sequential time "frames" in a "movie" window. In this way,
areas of non-uniform density (or temperature or stress) appear as color
differences in the data image. As successive frames appear, a
comprehensible view of changing features throughout the data set may be
observed.

The programs included in NMSB Movie are all written in C-language for
Macintosh II series (or better) computers running System 6.0.5 through 7.1
with 2Mb RAM and an 8-bit color display adapter. While the programs will
execute on a monochrome system, a color display is necessary for
meaningful presentation of data. A floating-point processor and 32-bit
Color QuickDraw are required. Apple's QuickTime system extension must be
installed to enable the creation of QuickTime movie files. The
distribution medium includes an electronic copy of the documentation in
MicroSoft Word 5.0 for the Macintosh format as well as project files for
Symantec Corporation's Think C v5.0 and executables for NMSB Movie,
NewView, NewSize and Label Movie. NMSB Movie was developed in 1990 and was
updated in 1991 and 1992.
