NS/3270 for Windows Defines Brand New Category for Powerful, yet
Easy-to-Use 3270 Communications at Only 25% the Cost of Other Emulators.

LAGUNA HILLS, CA, September 20, 1993 -- Today NetSoft announced NS/3270, a
high-performance, third-generation, PC-to-mainframe communications product
for PCs running Microsoft Windows or Windows NT. Totally redefining the
market's concept of 3270 emulators, NS/3270 is a compact, fast,
easy-to-use emulator costing only 25% as much as competitive software.

"Why pay for more than you need?", asked Russ Hertzberg, NetSoft's director
of product marketing. "NS/3270 has just the right complement of features
for a large segment of the market. By applying advanced technology and
compact design, we've created a high-speed emulator at a new price
point."

NS/3270 is priced at only $95, compared to other 3270 emulators for Windows
which range from $395 to $495. The software emulates IBM 3278 terminals
(models 2 through 5) and 3287 printers (DSC or SCS). Features include two
host sessions, file transfer, Multiple Document Interface (MDI), graphical
toolbar, keyboard remapping, TrueType, automatic font sizing, NetWare for
SAA connectivity, and comprehensive HLLAPI support. With a network
optimized set-up program and object oriented configuration, NS/3270 was
designed with ease of installation and use as primary objectives.

NS/3270 is ideal for customers who want to roll out 3270 emulation to
additional users on their network, but do not want to pay high prices for
software and training. It offers a basic set of 3270 features with a user
interface so straightforward that training and support costs are minimized
as well. NS/3270 is also perfect for customers implementing graphical
front-ends to their 3270 host applications. Such customers often require a
basic "3270 Windows engine" only, and are reluctant to pay for a full set
of features that the end users will never see.

The new emulator is fully compatible with third-party front-end
applications. It is the first 3270 software to support Microsoft's new
Windows Open Services Architecture (WOSA) standard for the HighLevel
Language Application Programming Interface (HLLAPI). It also supports
IBM's OS/2 HLLAPI specification. NetSoft's optional EHLLAPI Toolkit for
Windows is a complete software development package that allows easy
development of front-ends via either the Visual Basic or C language.

NS/3270 is the second new product developed via NetSoft's exclusive New
Systems (NS/) technology. This third-generation connectivity technology is
based on NetSoft's extensive SNA experience spanning more than a decade.
In July, the company announced its first NS/ technology product, the
NS/Router, the world's first APPC client/server engine for seamless
Window-to-AS/400 connectivity.

NS/3270 can communicate over all major Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide
Area Network (WAN) connections. It supports NetSoft's entire library of
time-tested link drivers, including NetWare IPX/SPX, NetBIOS, 802.2,
TCP/IP, Coax/DFT and SDLC.

NS/3270 can be used in client/server applications via several LAN gateways,
including NetSoft's AdaptSNA LAN Gateway, Microsoft's SNA Server for
Windows NT, Novell's NetWare for SAA and NetWare SNA Gateway, and IBM's
PC/3270 Gateway and OS/2 Communications Manager.

NS/3270 comes in two versions, a 1 6-bit version for Windows users
available October 15, and a 32-bit version for Windows NT users available
November 15.

Founded in 1980, NetSoft is an industry veteran and strategic business
partner of Microsoft, IBM, Novell and NCR/AT&T. The company was selected
by Microsoft to develop the 3270 accessory program, or applet, currently
supplied as a built-in feature of the SNA Server for Windows NT. NetSoft
was the first to develop an asynchronous connectivity solution for
Windows-to-mainframe access, and the first to develop a Windows-to-AS/400
solution that eliminates the need for IBM's PC Support/400 software.

Formerly known as Network Software Associates, NetSoft offers a full line
of PC-to-host products, including 3270, 5250, APPC and RJE solutions for
MS-DOS, Windows, Windows NT and OS/2. NetSoft is headquartered at 39
Argonaut, Laguna Hills, CA 92656. Phone: (714) 768-4013 or (800)
