Spectacular Fractal Screensaver
Deep River Publishing Releases Fractal Sideshow

PORTLAND, Maine -- September 20, 1993 -- Fractal Sideshow now gives
computer users their best excuse to take a breather, break out the nachos,
and let their Windows screensaver take center stage as the main event.
Loaded with dazzling and colorful fractal images, Deep River's latest
release Fractal Sideshow provides an idle computer with constantly
changing colors and images that flow across the screen. With over a
thousand images in all, Fractal Sideshow can entertain for weeks and still
display new patterns.

Fractal Sideshow comes with a wide array of original fractal images, and a
variety of color palettes which, displayed on a 256-color PC, produce
spectacular scenes with continuously unfolding variety. Brilliant
rainbows, exotic metallic hues and soft pastels swirl before you.

Registered Fractal Sideshow users may also purchase Fractal Sideshow Add-on
Images and double their selection of images. In addition, Fractal Sideshow
works with Deep River's new multimedia CD-ROM, Fractal Ecstasy, to produce
over one hundred thousand full-screen designs

Easy to install and Windows based, Fractal Sideshow is as simple to use as
"ready, set, go" and does not require a CD-ROM drive. Once installed,
Sideshow is activated in exactly the same manner as stock Windows
screensavers, through the 'Control Panel' and 'Desktop' windows in Program
Manager. But the similarity stops there, Fractal Sideshow's fractal images
have been compared to swirling galaxies, flowing tie-dyed patterns and
exotic electronic Salvador Dali-esque images.

What are fractals?

The term 'fractal' refers to a graphical image produced by running a set of
mathematical equations over and over again. The result is a complex,
beautiful pattern which maintains its complexity even when magnified
millions of times. The grand-daddy of them all is the Mandelbrot set
(named after IBM scientist Benoit Mandelbrot), a fractal pattern which
produces endless exotic designs. Fractal Sideshow includes Mandelbrot
images as well as many other original fractal designs
