EA SPORTS SOCCER

SAN MATEO, CA, June 3, 1993 - EA SPORTS, a division of Electronic Arts
(NASDAQ: ERTS), today announced plans for its first soccer game for the
Sega Genesis, EA SPORTS Soccer (working title).

EA SPORTS Soccer is played from a unique three-quarter style top-down
perspective that allows players to see more of the playing field, and
gives them the best possible control of the action on the field. The 30
degree isometric view combines the "coolness" of a 3D view with the depth
and playability of a standard side scrolling view.

Players can choose from over 40 international teams that play like their
real-life counterparts, each with different playing styles. Game players
select offensive and defensive strategies and align themselves according
to individual players' strengths and weaknesses. Teams will compete in
round robin-style tournaments on their way to capture the cup.

Computer intelligence is modeled on actual soccer strategies and tactics
and adds a level of realism and authenticity never before seen in a soccer
video game. Animations like bicycle kicks, slide tackles, diving goalies,
chest traps, diving headers and leg traps capture all the action and
variety of a real soccer match.

Variable field conditions can impact the game as the playing surfaces
change, so players must take into account slipping, slow down, and ball
physics as the turf changes during the game.

Whether it's a bad pass or a goal, the stadium comes to life as the crowd
responds to game situations with boos, groans, chants, and cheers.

An easy-to-understand play interface will mean users can easily pick up the
rules of the game while strategy, line-up selection, and sophisticated
player ratings provide depth for the more advanced player.
