Logitech Increases Sound Product Offering with New Additions to SoundMan
Product Family 

Input Device Leader Now Offers Full Range of Sound Products Including
8-bit, 16-bit, and Parallel Port Options

Fremont, Calif. -- September 15, 1993 -- Logitech Inc., international
market leader in computer input technology, today announced two new
additions to the company's sound product line, SoundMan Games and SoundMan
16 Superpack, as well as a newly upgraded version of SoundMan 16.

SOUNDMAN GAMES: NEW STEREO SOUND BOARD FOR GAMES

Logitech is introducing SoundMan Games, an 8-bit stereo sound card
specifically developed for newcomers to the game market. The product
provides high-quality sound and is guaranteed to be fully Sound Blaster
Pro and AdLib compatible. SoundMan Games carries a suggested retail price
of $139.

SoundMan Games card has a CD-quality sampling frequency of 44.1 KHz and is
equipped with a a six-watt stereo amplifier and an OPL-3 Yamaha
synthesizer chip. The chip offers four-operator sound and 20-voice stereo
support for the best possible sound quality. SoundMan Games includes a
built-in Sony CD-ROM interface allowing the user to install both single
and multi-session CD-ROM drives, and is MPC and MPU-401 compatible,
ensuring it will work with all multimedia and music applications.

Positioned for PC game players, SoundMan Games includes a "smart"
installation program (which identifies the user's system setup and helps
configure the board), DOS software, and a new game. Also included is MCS
MusicRack from Animotion featuring sound recording and editing software
for Windows. SoundMan Games offers an interface for one or two joysticks,
a microphone or CD-audio line-in for recording, an output jack for stereo
speakers or headphones, and Windows and DOS software for easy sound
recording and playback sound. It is backed by a full two-year guarantee
and unlimited product support.

SoundMan Games will begin shipping in Europe in late October, and will be
available in November in North America at selected retail outlets and
direct from Logitech.

IMPROVED VERSION OF LOGITEC'S SOUNDMAN 16 

Logitech is now shipping an upgraded version of SoundMan 16, the 1 6-bit
stereo sound card for the IBM PC. SoundMan 16 incorporates all the
features consumers expect from high-end sound today: A Yamaha OPL-3
synthesizer chip with 20-voice stereo support, up to 44.1 KHz sampling and
playback, a four-watt stereo amplifier, a joystick port and MIDI
interface, and guaranteed Sound Blaster, AdLib, MPC (I and 2), and MPU-401
compatibility. SoundMan 16 carries a suggested retail price of $199.

Logitech improved the user installation of SoundMan 16 by adding sound and
graphics, making it even easier for users to add sound cards to their
systems. SoundMan 16 has no jumpers; users can install the product without
having to set on-board options first. The installation software
automatically selects the correct settings for the system.

For software, SoundMan 16 supports both Windows 3.1 and DOS, with separate
controls and drivers for each. Both drivers set and retain board settings
and "talk" with each other, so the settings in one environment are the
same as the other. New software applications added to SoundMan 16
include:

* MCS MusicRack from Animotion features a convenient window that looks and
works like a home stereo system. Some key features of the software package
include a mixing console, CD software player for CD-ROM drives with audio
playback capabilities, digital recorder for recording and editing WAV
files, and a MIDI player. 

* Icon Hear-It Lite from Moon Valley personalizes your Windows desktop by
adding sound effects and replacing regular icons with clever icons.

* ScreenCraze II from Gold Disk helps users create and display animated
Windows wallpapers and screen savers.

* AddImpact! Player from Gold Disk allows users to add pre-created animated
graphics to their Windows documents.

SOUNDMAN SUPERPACK: A COMPLETE SOUND SOLUTION

SoundMan 16 Superpack is designed to offer a complete sound solution for
games and multimedia to the end-user. The product ships with the
high-quality SoundMan 16 sound board, Labtec speakers and microphone, and
several software packages. The same software titles included in the
SoundMan 16 upgrade is included in the SoundMan 16 Superpack, plus Soft
Karaoke for Windows from Tune 1000. Available in mid-October in all major
retail stores, SoundMan 16 Superpack will carry a suggested retail price
of $229.

Logitech offers seven-day-a-week support for all of the SoundMan products
as well as a 1 00-percent Sound Blaster and AdLib compatibility guarantee.
SoundMan 16 and SoundMan 16 Superpack offer a full three-year warranty.

In addition to the SoundMan product line for entertainment and multimedia,
Logitech also markets AudioMan, the complete sound solution for Windows.
AudioMan is an external sound device, which incorporates a speaker and
microphone and connects by cable to the parallel port. AudioMan is
targeted at and optimized for Windows applications when using sound in
presentations, voice annotation in spreadsheets, word processing, and
E-mail.
