Personnel Screening, Evaluation Program Helps Companies
Select the Right Person for the Right Position

October 22, 1993 -- PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Rupp Technology Corporation has
unveiled Hire Right, the first professional employee selection and
performance evaluation assistance software program to bring the entire
staffing process -- from initial interview through promotion or
termination -- to the desktop, at a price point acceptable to small and
mid-sized businesses.

A full-function and Windows-compatible employment toolkit, Hire Right
consists of four component sections: those reporting an applicant's
background, work history and attitudes towards substance abuse and theft
avoidance -- for more productive interviews; those profiling motivational,
self expectation and personal style attitudes -- to assist management in
the applicant selection employee placement; those assisting with
performance analysis for existing employees; and, template forms for all
other key steps in the staffing process.

Key to the product's uniqueness is its ability to interpret an applicant's
responses to proven personality-related survey questions and generate
comprehensive narrative profiles that reveal how best to motivate them and
interpret their working styles.

Such critical profiles -- typically sent to expensive third party testing
firms -- can now be generated in-house in a matter of minutes and at a
fraction of the cost. Similar profiles are commonly used by Fortune 1000
firms to assist them in effectively hiring, placing, managing and
motivating employees.

Designed by human resource professionals, the latest addition to Rupp
Technology's award-winning line of PC software products represents a new
direction for the company -- which made its name in the early years of the
personal computer industry as an innovator of productivity enhancement
software for the mobile computer user.

"After years of helping the personal computer user to be more functional
and with improved mobility, Rupp software has now turned its programming
expertise to the task of streamlining the often confusing hiring and
employee evaluation process and bringing it into the PC age," said Rupp
Technology President Byron C. Rupp.

"Hire Right software makes use of the same type of applicant survey
protocols used by private firms to screen prospective employees at many of
the nation's largest corporations -- but packages them in a turnkey
program ideal for small and mid-sized firms," explained Rupp.

As with other, more general business application software packages from
Rupp Technology, Hire Right will operate in both DOS and Windows
environments, incorporating the same key ease-of-use features that have
made the company's products among the industry's most critically
acclaimed.

Other key beneficial features of Rupp's Hire Right software include:

** Computerized, printable application forms and application tracking
reports, as well as interview records, reference verification forms, and
scheduled hiring activity reports;

** General information and work history surveys, along with questionnaires
that help assess an applicant's honesty and substance abuse history;

** Form letters for use in making offers of employment or rejecting
applicants;

** In its component for working with current employees, performance
evaluations, progress reports and contracts are backed up by amendable
warning notices and termination letters -- all recorded alongside work
experience information.

Although designed predominantly for use as an on-screen, computerized
resource, the personnel profiles -- as well as all forms and backup
documents -- can also be printed out on either dot matrix or laser
printers for use in hard copy form. This allows candidates and employees
that are not yet computer literate to complete surveys which can then be
entered into the system by others.

Minimum system requirements for the use of Hire Right PC software include
MS DOS version 3.0 or higher, running on at least a PC XT configuration
with a minimum 640 KBytes of RAM on board and a hard disk drive and CGA
monitor or better. To take full advantage of the program's Windows
capabilities, however, additional memory and hardware options -- including
a mouse or similar input device -- would be necessary as determined by the
systems requirements of the Windows OS version installed on the host.

Hire Right software -- equipped with up to 15 computerized application/
evaluation profile sessions -- is scheduled for release in December, 1993,
at a suggested retail price of $149.50.

In the U.S., Hire Right and other Rupp Technology software products are
distributed to computer outlets nationwide through Ingram Micro, Merisel
and Kenfil Distribution. In Canada, distribution is handled by Canadian
Computer Wholesale and Gentek Marketing, Inc.
