Introducing Math Ace
"The program that turns kids on to math."

Palo Alto, Calif., October 11, 1993 - Magic Quest, formerly Earthquest, is
proud to announce Math Ace, the 90's solution to the age-old dilemma of
how to spark kids' interest in learning math. Unlike other math programs
on the market, Math Ace is a fast-paced arcade style game which integrates
an interactive, self-paced math workshop called Smart Lab. Math Ace also
introduces an intrepid digital math navigator named Bit-Bot and a
voracious Virus intent on devouring the World's Math Archives. Math Ace is
designed for ages 8-14 and presents more than 3,000 math problems covering
70 fundamental math concepts from basic arithmetic through algebra.

Due to the wide range of math concepts included in both the game and in the
Smart Lab, Math Ace promises years of learning fun. Encouraged by the
highly personable Bit-Bot, kids become caught up in the game play which
includes four challenging math duels, games within the game, all in their
quest to keep the dreaded Virus at bay. In addition to essential math
concepts, Math Ace addresses charting, graphing and mapping, fractions,
decimals and percentages, beginning geometry, probability and estimation,
and everyday math applications such as telling time and calculator usage.
Skills enhanced in Math Ace include critical thinking, problem solving,
recall and memory, reasoning and discovery learning.

Unique "Smart Lab" Provides Kids with Step-by-Step Instruction

To help kids practice or simply explore and learn more about any of the
concepts presented, Math Ace includes Smart Lab. This interactive math
workshop provides step-by-step tutorials and in-depth information on
problems encountered in Math Ace from simple arithmetic to abstract
algebraic equations Kids get pointers such as how to visually group
objects for quicker counting or a step-by-step approach to translating
real world situations into solvable math equations. Smart Lab also
includes an extensive reference section that provides definitions and
information on weights and measures, metric conversions and translations
of numbers from one to one hundred in Spanish, French and Japanese. Found
only in Math Ace, Smart Lab increases kids' learning power and allows them
to take time out to expand their math horizons before they reenter the
game.

Math Ace will be featured in Magic Quest's innovative school software
donation program, "Learning2". Included in the "Learning2" program is
Magic Quest's newest title, Math Ace and the forthcoming newly designed
Treks titles, Ecology Treks, Time Treks, and Earth Treks. Specially
stickered boxes of all Magic Quest titles contain school computer
information forms that kids can fill in with the help of their teachers
and send to Magic Quest. Upon receipt of these completed forms, Magic
Quest will issue special licensing privileges and free copies of the
requested Magic Quest titles to each child's school.

Math Ace requires a 286 PC compatible or higher, 640K RAM, Microsoft
