ADev's New PRO-PIPE 12.1 is More Flexible in ADS

ADev is pleased to announce the release of a new version of PROPIPE for the
process and plant design industry. This new version takes advantage of the
advanced features available to developers in AutoCAD R12 including
AutoCAD's Advanced Development System (ADS), new SQL interface and AME
functionality. The result is a more productive package for orthographic
and 3D piping construction drawings, models and materials reports. It is
also SQL database driven which means editing and reports generation hr
OSHA and EPA compliance, ISO 9000 certification and HAZOP studies are
easier than ever. ADev's management believes that no other AutoCAD 3rd
party program for any discipline compares in it's sophisticated use of
ADS, SQL and AME

New Feature Benefits

"Allowing users the flexibility to work the way they want to work has
always been the key to the success of ADev's PRO-PIPE package," says
ADev's President Jeff Neumeyer. "And that's true now more than ever. With
a new environment for component generation and customizable material
Reports, the newest release of PRO-PIPE enables piping designers to create
new components that are specific to their company's needs. It opens
PRO-PIPE to entirely new markets, in addition to the petrochemical
industry, including plant design for food processing plants, pulp and
paper factories, environmental and waste water management, pharmaceutical
facilities, biotech and much more. "

New Feature Functionality

In addition to the more than 30,000 standard components available in
PRO-PIPE's electronic catalogs, PRO-PIPE 12.1 now features an environment
for creating customized components and materials schedules. The
user-created components are recognized and functional for PRO-PIPE
automated features including Auto-Sections and Auto-Iso. An easy to
follow, well documented system allows the user to add new components or
modify existing components by simply editing or creating text files. The
user does not need to learn or use complicated programming techniques.

PRO-PIPE 12.1 also allows the user to customize the appearance of the BOM
which is automatically generated from the information associated with each
component on a PRO-PIPE drawing. The user can choose whether the material
information will be counted top-down or bottom-up; the user can adjust the
width of the columns in the BOM; and the BOM will now allow word wrapping
so that long descriptions will continue on the next line for ease in
readability.

Other new features include a conversion routine for AutoCAD's Advanced
Modeling Extension (AME); rolled components that function in Auto-Sections
and Auto-Iso; the new SQL link means PRO-PIPE gives you flexibility to use
any database that AutoCAD supports; extensive use of user-friendly dialog
boxes; auto-weld gapping; and much more.

This new release marks the initial migration between ADev's PRO-SERIES for
AutoCAD-based plant design and ADev's OMNI-SERIES for Intergraph
MicroStation-based plant design. Because the database piping
specifications and customized components are now used interchangeable
between both lines of software, companies that use both CAD solutions can
save valuable front-end project time.

Company Background
