AGE LOGIC ANNOUNCES VERSION 3.0 PC X SERVER SOFTWARE FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS
AND OS/2

Major New X Server Features are Included

SAN DIEGO, CA. October 11, 1993 -- AGE Logic, Inc. (AGE) announced a major
new release of its XoftWare/32 line of 32-bit PC X server software.
XoftWare/32, Version 3.0, includes a full suite of new utilities and
features targeted toward the sophisticated PC user who needs to access
UNIX applications. Version 3.0 is an enhancement to AGE's current
Windows-based PC X server, XoftWare/32 for Windows, Version 2.03. Version
3.0 will also be ported to the OS/2 platform and available in a new
product, XoftWare/32 for OS/2.

XoftWare/32 for Windows, Version 3.0, is optimized for the Microsoft
Windows operating system and enables users to concurrently access and
display MS Windows, DOS, and network-based UNIX applications on the same
PC. XoftWare/32 for OS/2, Version 3.0, enables PC users to access and
display network-based UNIX applications simultaneously with OS/2, Windows
and DOS applications.

"The addition of the OS/2 version to our XoftWare/32 line demonstrates our
earlier commitment to providing advanced X server capabilities for 32-bit
operating systems," commented Peter J. Shaw, president/CEO at AGE. "We
introduced the first 32-bit PC X server software in 1992 for Windows
platforms; we subsequently added XoftWare/32 software for Windows NT on
both MIPS and Intel platforms earlier this year. We will continue to lead
the industry with the widest range and highest performing X server
solutions available," he said.

XoftWare/32 includes significant performance improvements that, in X
specific cases, result in a 25 percent faster throughput.

Key new features available with XoftWare/32, Version 3.0, include a
comprehensive Network File Manager utility with file transfer and local
printing capabilities, a Concurrent Window Manager mode for simultaneous
use of both local and UNIX window managers, a fully interactive Telnet
client, and a Windows-OS/2 based Trace utility. XoftWare/32 for Windows,
Version 3.0, also includes a new UNIX Print Re-route Utility, support for
installation from a remote server, and 24-/16-bit true color support.
Additional network capabilities include direct support for IPX/SPX
networks and serial communications.

A new version of the optional Novell TCP/IP network software is also
available and now includes support for industry standard Point-to-Point
(PPP) serial line communications. XoftWare/32 for OS/2, Version 3.0,
includes full support for IBM's TCP/IP network software.

"Version 3.0 is a major release for our XoftWare/32 product line," said
Craig A. Schmidt, vice president at AGE. "XoftWare/32, Version 3.0 was
designed for the power user of X and includes many new sophisticated
utilities as well as new features and performance enhancements. We believe
that at $395, XoftWare/32, Version 3.0 products for MS Windows and OS/2
offer the highest price/performance value on the market."

AGE's Network File Manager is a comprehensive utility for managing the
display and transfer of local and remote files. A graphical file browser
displays all files on the network and provides a convenient Windows-OS/2
method of copying, deleting and printing both local and remote files. The
graphical "point & click" file transfer features supports the
industry-standard FTP protocol and simplifies the process of transferring
files in either ASCII or binary mode between a PC and remote host as well
as between two networked hosts. XoftWare/32 for Windows, Version 3.0, also
permits the simultaneous use of both the Microsoft Windows manager and a
UNIX window manager (such as Motif, OPEN LOOK, DECwindows or HP Vue) on a
single display to accommodate applications which require specific window
managers. XoftWare/32 for OS/2 permits simultaneous use of both the OS/2
Presentation Manager and UNIX window managers.

A complete Telnet client is also included in XoftWare/32, Version 3.0,
providing users the ability to conduct a fully interactive Telnet session
using either a DEC VT100 or VT220 emulation. Other new features include a
wire frame graphics cut & paste tool and a comprehensive Windows-based
trace utility. Trace captures all or portions of the data communication
between the X server and X client - a useful system diagnostic tool. Trace
also includes a complete range of pre-defined filters to capture any
selected requests, events, replies and errors.

Additional features available in XoftWare/32 for Windows, Version 3.0,
include a UNIX Print Re-route Utility that enables users to re-direct
multiple UNIX print jobs to their local PC printer or to any printer on
the network for convenient access. The MS Windows-based installation has
also been simplified by enabling administrators to install XoftWare/32 for
Windows from a remote server. A new 16- and 24-bit true color feature
supports up to 16.8 million colors - the maximum number of colors
available for display on any PC.

Support for Novell/UnixWare IPX/SPX networks is now included with
XoftWare/32 for Windows as well as support for an increased number of
third-party TCP/IP networks. Novell's TCP/IP network software is also
available as a bundled option to XoftWare/32 for Windows and now supports
serial line communications using the industry standard PPP protocol. In
addition to supporting all leading TCP/IP networks, XoftWare/32 for
Windows also supports networks compatible with the WINSOCK interface.

XoftWare/32 for Windows, Version 3.0, will begin shipping the end of
October, 1993; XoftWare/32 for OS/2 will begin shipping in December, 1993.
Both products will be available through AGE's domestic and international
network of resellers and distributors. XoftWare/32 for OS/2 will have a
single-user list price of $395. XoftWare/32 for Windows will also list for
$395 and a version incorporating Novell's TCP/IP network software will be
available for $495. Multi-Pack pricing and site licenses are available for
both products. Custom OEM versions are also available. Interested parties
should contact AGE, or their local reseller, for more information.
