Examples
There are a number of files provided with the system, which can inspected and used.
OurWorld
This is practice for marking up - the URLS don't exist. If you start in the parent
directory, you can load an image file "eg_pics/ourworld.rppm". (If you have only
monochrome, use eg_pics/cyclohexene.xbm). Practice drawing round the fishes, etc.
After each one you will be asked for a URL and comments - just type something
short. After 2-3 markups, Save the Map file - it should ask you for a default URL
(for the background) and then for a mapfile name. After this has finished, QUIT.
Now restart the program. If you use Load Map, you should be offered the chance
to read the image file as well. Say YES. then the picture should be exctly where
you left off. Mark up a few more fish and Save Map again.
Now try deleting some of the shapes - select a shape and then find the EDIT | Delete Selected button. Try saving again. (We don't yet have an UNDO, sorry). Also you can
try editing the shapes - select a shape and click the move points button or the
add points button or the delete points menu (we'll tidy this later!).
HIV genome
Here there is a fully marked up map. If you go to html directory, the URLs in there are
live. (Some point externally). So Load genome.map and Load Image (genome.rppm).
(Alternatively load genome1.map). Then, if you select an object and hit
Annotation | Annotate selected (sorry this is a bit cumbersome - we'll change it),
you can TEST the URL. the TEST brings up your browser, which should be quitted
with the KILL TEST.
