MODELE DE RESOLUTION ET D'EXPLICATION AU BRIDGE

 Le travail exposé dans cet article se rapporte à la direction de
recherche en explication qui considère que la dimension  explica­
tive doit être prise en compte dès le début de l'élaboration d'un
système à base de connaissances. Mais cela  ne  suffit  pas,  car
même  explicites,  ces  connaissances ne traduisent que le savoir
faire d'un expert et  non  toute  la  théorie  du  domaine  sous-
jacente.   Pour   obtenir   une   bonne  explication,  un  modèle
d'expertise  explicatif  du  domaine  est  nécessaire.  Nous   en
énumérons  ici  les  différentes composantes et nous l'illustrons
sur notre domaine d'application, la phase des enchères au jeu  de
bridge.


 Our   work is based on the assumption that explanation abilities
should be taken into account from the very beginning of the know­
eledge-based  system  design.  However, even if knowledge is made
entirely explicit, the knowledge base formalizes the expert know-
how rather than the domain theory. So we assume that we need both
a domain model and a model for explanatory expertise. In this ar­
ticle, we identify the componants of the latter and we illustrate
these on a subset of the Bridge, the bidding stage.
